Deji Majek is a self-taught photographer of Nigerian descent, specializing in portraiture that blends emotional depth with a creative, editorial sensibility. Now based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Deji’s work explores themes of vulnerability, identity, and self-expression—capturing his subjects in moments that feel both raw and intentional.
Guided by a natural curiosity and a passion for storytelling through images, Deji began his journey behind the camera experimenting with light, color, and emotion. What started as a personal exploration evolved into a professional path, eventually leading him to earn a diploma in photography from Nova Scotia Community College. Today, his Halifax-based studio is a space where experimentation meets comfort, and where individuals—whether seasoned models or first-time subjects—are empowered to show up fully as themselves.
Known for his technical fluency with light and his intuitive ability to make people feel at ease, Deji has a gift for drawing out the quiet strength and beauty in every person he photographs. His work is both a reflection and celebration of the human experience—honest, imaginative, and deeply intentional.
Deji currently lives and works in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where his studio is located. He is available for travel and collaborations worldwide.
